Honors Program

91爆料鈥檚 Honors Program is open to A.A., A.S., and University Studies students with a GPA of at least 3.5 and at least 12 college credit hours鈥攊ncluding dual enrolled students. Our purpose is to expand 91爆料鈥檚 vibrant learning community by creating a cutting-edge, collaborative Honors Program dedicated to intellectual growth, accessibility, and data-informed decision-making to graduate innovative, proactive, lifelong learners who will meet the current and emerging trends of South Carolina鈥檚 workforce.

Program Information

Through an array of courses and seminars, Honors Program students will participate in community service projects, explore intriguing topics, and participate in leadership and travel opportunities that broaden their intellectual perspectives.

PTC鈥檚 Honors Program creates full and comprehensive educational experiences for students鈥攐pening their worlds to knowledge, opportunities, and experiences they would not have otherwise.

As a PTC honors student, you鈥檒l receive a world-class education during the first two years of your work toward a bachelor鈥檚 degree that will prepare you for excellence, no matter which academic path you choose to pursue during your junior and senior years at a four-year institution.

91爆料/Current Course Rotation

Each student must take at least four Honors courses from at least two different disciplines in order to graduate from the program. Students are not permitted to register for more than two Honors courses a semester. If the student is on probation, they are limited to one Honors course for the semester. Students are not permitted to withdraw from more than two Honors courses during their duration in the program. Below is the tentative course rotation:

  • Spring 2025
    • SPC 205
    • BIO 101
    • SPA 101
    • HIS 201

 

Enrichment

During each of your two years in the honors program, you鈥檒l have the opportunity to expand your horizons through travel experiences and service learning projects.

Transfer Opportunities

After being a member of PTC鈥檚 Honors Program, students will be exceptionally well prepared to transfer into a four-year college or university. Some institutions may allow students to transfer PTC honors credit directly into their Honors Program, for a full, four-year honors experience.

How to Apply

Steps to the application process.

Complete and submit a formal application by clicking here: 

1) A PTC faculty, staff, or administrator must initiate the application process by recommending a student for the program. 

2) The Honors Program Committee will review the recommendation. If approved, a notification will be sent to the student to complete their application portion, including submitting a one-page response to one of five questions.

3) After the student has completed their portion, the Honors Program will review the completed application and email the student to schedule an interview.

4) After the interview, the student will receive a decision within 7-10 business days via email.

Eligibility

Entrance Requirements

  • Open to AA, AS, and University Studies Certificate 
  • GPA must be a minimum of 3.5 to join, and students must maintain at least a 3.2 in order to graduate with Honors.
  • Applicants must have completed at least 12 college credit hours.
