Greenwood County is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and professional Office Manager to join our Engineering Department. This position plays an important role in keeping the department’s day-to-day administrative operations running efficiently while providing support to department leadership, employees, vendors, and the public.
The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and problem-solver who can manage multiple priorities, work independently with limited supervision, and help coordinate the administrative functions of a busy County department.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities include:
- Organize and coordinate daily office operations, procedures, and administrative activities.
- Prepare payroll information and ensure timely submission.
- Assist with preparation and administration of the department’s annual budget.
- Organize meetings, appointments, schedules, and other department activities.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities for new department employees.
- Maintain appropriate procedures for sensitive and confidential information.
- Work with Human Resources to maintain and implement office policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the IT Department regarding office technology and equipment needs.
- Work with vendors and service providers, including contracts, pricing, invoices, and payments.
- Monitor office supplies, equipment, purchasing, mailing, shipping, and other administrative needs.
- Assign and monitor clerical and administrative responsibilities among office staff.
- Coordinate staff activities and schedules to promote efficiency and timely completion of work.
- Assist visitors and respond professionally to questions or concerns.
- Prepare, review, and analyze reports and keep department leadership informed of important activities.
- Help maintain positive and productive working relationships among department staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
