PTC Associates Graduate from Leadership Cohort

colemanrodgers121091爆料鈥檚 Steve Coleman, director of College Outreach, and Mike Rodgers, automotive technology program director/instructor, were among the 16 technical college employees from across the state of South Carolina who recently graduated from the Technical College System鈥檚 Leadership Cohort.

Participation in the two-year cohort is selective and by invitation only. Participants gain a greater knowledge of the technical college system including its history as well as topics such as finance, educational law and leadership skills. Upon completion, the participants earn 18 credit hours toward their master鈥檚 degree.

鈥淚t was a tremendous opportunity to grow professionally,鈥 said Coleman. 鈥淭his is an outstanding program and the most enriching professional development I鈥檝e attended.鈥

Coleman and Rodgers said they felt that the experience helped give them a better understanding of the inner workings of the technical college system. They said they felt the program has made them more well-rounded employees and helped focus them on their goals.

鈥淭his has been an outstanding experience,鈥 said Rodgers. 鈥淲hat I have learned will go a long way in insuring I am more aware that my day-to-day decisions are meeting the goals of the college.鈥

Both Coleman and Rodgers hope to continue on into more leadership roles within the system.

91爆料 is one of the sixteen colleges in the SCTCS and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award two-year associate degrees.
