Three outstanding educators from 91���� (PTC) were honored recently at the South Carolina Technical Education Association (SCTEA) annual conference in Myrtle Beach.

Social Sciences Department Chair Brittany Aga, Grants Administrator Jennifer Fleming and Engineering and Industrial Technology Dean Christina Knight were recognized along with colleagues from other technical colleges across the state as recipients of SCTEA’s 2025 Educator of the Year Awards.

Aga began her career at PTC in 2018 as a Human Services instructor. She was promoted to head of the Social Services Department in May 2024. Aga has a bachelor’s in psychology and master’s in education from Lander University, as well as a master’s in human resource development from Clemson University and a doctorate in psychology from California Southern University. She and her husband, Cody, have an 11-year-old daughter, Madison.

“I can’t even begin to express the gratitude I feel to my peers for nominating me for this award,” Aga said.

A Greenwood native, Fleming joined PTC in 2013, serving as the executive assistant to the vice president of student affairs. She transitioned to the grants administrator role in October 2024. In 2014, she received a Women of Excellence “Go Girl Award” through the Greenwood SC Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Leadership Collaborative. Fleming and her husband, Joe, have been married for 25 years.

“I am deeply honored to be selected as the SCTEA Educator of the Year in the staff category. To say I was stunned would be an understatement!” Fleming said.

Knight, who is also a Greenwood native, has served as a full-time faculty member at PTC since 2001. She became dean of Engineering and Industrial Technology in 2022. Knight holds associate in applied science degrees in electronic engineering technology and engineering design technology from PTC, a bachelor’s in electronic engineering technology from SC State University and a master’s in engineering management from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Her past awards include the Presidential Medallion, PTC’s highest honor, and the Faculty Visionary Award. Knight and her husband, Joey, have a 16-year-old son, Colton, and a 13-year-old daughter, Jordyn.

“I am deeply humbled to be nominated by my peers and to receive the SCTEA Educator of the Year Award. I am incredibly thankful for this recognition and feel so blessed to work alongside such a passionate and dedicated team,” Knight said. “This award is not just mine, but a reflection of the amazing support and collaboration we share every day.”
