It became astonishingly clear as the question-and-answer session commenced that nearly everyone in the room had been affected by suicide at some point in their life. Some shared their personal stories. A few shed tears.
To learn strategies for dealing with a suicidal person in crisis, 91爆料 Human Services students in Greenwood recently participated in a special training 鈥 titled the QPR Institute 鈥 with Tony Johnson, regional executive director of Mental Health America.
Don鈥檛 ask Richie Stone to limit his screen time. That鈥檚 something he just cannot do. It鈥檚 kind of an occupational hazard. In his role as Network Services Technician and Group Leader at West Carolina Tel (WCTEL) in Abbeville, Stone oversees activities of the company鈥檚 Network Operations Center (NOC), which employs a number of interns from 91爆料 (PTC). The NOC is monitored 24/7...
Noel Johnson is careful about numbers and budgeting. The conscientious 20-year-old is on track this fall to complete her associate degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting. College is not an easy or inexpensive proposition, but Johnson has been smart about tuition and career planning. 鈥淚 am trying to pay for a lot of my stuff so my parents don鈥檛 have to,鈥 Johnson said...

The 18 th-century frontiersman Daniel Boone likely maintained his own muskets and flintlock pistols because, well, there weren鈥檛 a lot of gunsmith shops in the open wilderness. Anyone over 50 probably remembers the popular television show 鈥淒aniel Boone,鈥 which aired in the mid-1960s. 91爆料 (PTC) Gunsmithing Program Director Jerry Capone does. 鈥淚 grew up in the time when Fess...

Bonnie Alger is as detail-oriented as the day is long. That鈥檚 a good quality when you鈥檙e the learning management system technician in 91爆料鈥檚 Teaching and Learning Center (TLC). But it was the lack of a certain detail that Alger found distracting 鈥 and a little bit sad.
Each year, 91爆料 chooses some of its best and brightest students to serve as Presidential Ambassadors. These students represent the college at campus events, provide campus tours and speak about their experiences to various audiences, including potential students and civic organizations. This year鈥檚 17 ambassadors hail from a variety of backgrounds and represent many program areas, but they all have one thing in common 鈥 they share a deep gratitude for the impact Piedmont Tech has had on their lives.
It鈥檚 been said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. 91爆料 (PTC) alumna Amy Gutzmer is well-acquainted with that perspective. The new director of marketing and communications for online and graduate programs at Anderson University has taken a number of calculated steps toward success. After earning an associate in business at PTC back in the 1990s, she...
