Karla Gilliam, respiratory care instructor at 91±¬ÁÏ, has been named the 2017 South Carolina Society of Respiratory Care (SCSRC) Education Practitioner of the Year.
91±¬ÁÏ is taking an additional approach to helping their students succeed. That approach is to promote a work-life balance and wellness in their employees. This approach is part of Piedmont Tech’s strategic directions and goals. It’s achieved through ongoing efforts such as PTC’s annual Wellness Expo, as well as new amenities such as a faculty/staff wellness center.
The development of a redesigned advising plan for health science and nursing students is among the special initiatives currently being undertaken at 91±¬ÁÏ.
Each year, 91±¬ÁÏ chooses some of its best and brightest to serve as Presidential Ambassadors. These students represent the college at campus functions, provide tours and speak about their experiences to potential students.
In recognition of more than a quarter century of service to the region and to the state of South Carolina, 91±¬ÁÏ recently announced that the Upstate Center for Manufacturing Excellence will be named in honor of the late Sen. Billy O'Dell.
Leah Anthony isn’t your typical teenager. She is a 2017 McCormick High School graduate, but she’s also a 2017 graduate of 91±¬ÁÏ, thanks to the middle college dual enrollment classes she took.
