PTC Has Just the Thing Coming Up for Travel Lovers

As the world gratefully begins to open back up and travel returns to the minds of many, the 91爆料 (PTC) Continuing Education Division announces upcoming travel opportunities beginning this summer through the spring of 2022. 

Workforce Immersion Grant Puts Educators on the 鈥楩actory Floor鈥

91爆料 (PTC) is the lead organization in a multi-agency partnership to place local school teachers and counselors on the archetypal 鈥渇actory floor鈥 of participating technology-driven businesses in the region to the empower participating educators to fully inform students, through their firsthand experience, about entry-level positions in growing industries such as advanced manufacturing, biotechnology and computer technology. 
The initiative has been made possible by a $15,000 Workforce Immersion Experiences for Educators grant from the SC Department of Commerce Office of Innovation. Participating companies are matching this commitment one-to-one, which brings the grant鈥檚 total value to $30,000. 

Piedmont Tech Student from Greenwood Receives Coca-Cola Foundation Scholarship

Madalyn Harris of Greenwood, a student at 91爆料, has been selected as a 2021 Coca-Cola Academic Team Bronze Scholar. Harris will receive a $1,000 scholarship for the fall 2021 semester. She is a Dual Enrollment student participating in PTC鈥檚 Quick Start Program, concentrating on health care. She plans to pursue an associate degree in cardiovascular technology. 

Perry Named President of Statewide Student Financial Aid Organization

Missy Perry, FAAC庐, director of financial aid at 91爆料 (PTC), has been elected president of the South Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SCASFAA). The organization made the announcement on Feb. 16.

Partnership with Self Continues to Benefit Piedmont Tech Workforce

When it comes to weighty issues of personal health, it鈥檚 important to consult the experts. Fortunately for faculty and staff at 91爆料 (PTC), Self Regional Healthcare is a longtime partner that has devoted resources especially to address all questions about the COVID-19 vaccines that are currently available. On March 10, Self hosted the first 鈥淟unch and Learn鈥 Zoom meeting with PTC personnel to provide information about the benefits of receiving the vaccination and to answer any related questions.

Outstanding Educators from Piedmont Tech Honored

Three 91爆料 (PTC) employees were honored recently as Outstanding Educators for the 2019-2020 academic year by the South Carolina Technical Education Association (SCTEA) at its annual conference last month (Feb. 18-19). Recognized along with colleagues from sister technical colleges in the state, PTC鈥檚 honorees are: Amelia Shill Jackson, student life coordinator, in the Staff category; Meredith Brown, psychology instructor, in the Faculty category; and Dr. L. Ray Brooks, outgoing president, in the Administrator category.

Piedmont Tech Announces Upcoming Topics for PTC Live Broadcast

91爆料 (PTC) announces the next three installments of its PTC Live program, which is broadcast over the college鈥檚 Facebook and YouTube channels. Hosted by PTC Director of Genesis Initiatives Steve Coleman, each program focuses conversation around a timely topic of interest to the PTC community.
