New Course Prepares Students for Remote Work Environments

Beginning June 1, the college鈥檚 Continuing Education Division will offer a four-week course titled 鈥淩emote Worker Training.鈥

They have been recognized as Teachers of the Year for their respective schools and/or school districts. 

Program Readies High Schoolers for Several College Health Care Programs

Ask your average high school junior what Health Care Quick Start is, and they might imagine it is some brand of virus-free, fast internet. Good guess, but no. For those who might be inclined toward a career somewhere along the health care spectrum, HCQS is a lifeline of another sort. It鈥檚 a program that 91爆料 (PTC) offers for dual enrollment students interested in getting common health care program feeder courses under their belt before actually attending college.

PTC Foundation Honors Scholarship Recipients

Every spring, 91爆料 (PTC) recognizes and celebrates students who have been awarded one of more than 85 scholarships available from the PTC Foundation. Again in 2021, as a cautionary measure, the college on April 1, 2021, conducted its scholarship recognition ceremony online over its 鈥淧TC Live鈥 social media channels.

Eaton Corporation Donates $50,000 to PTC Foundation

During a tour of the William H. 鈥淏illy鈥 O鈥橠ell Upstate Center for Manufacturing Excellence at 91爆料 (PTC) last month, officials from Eaton Corporation saw firsthand tangible results of their past and ongoing support for the college. But Eaton was not finished. The company presented a check for $50,000 to the PTC Foundation for continued support of the college鈥檚 engineering technology programs. 

Piedmont Tech Extends Freeze on Tuition

The 91爆料 (PTC) Area Commission at their April meeting voted for an extension of the college鈥檚 existing freeze on tuition, instituted last year, through the 2021-22 year.

As the world gratefully begins to open back up and travel returns to the minds of many, the 91爆料 (PTC) Continuing Education Division announces upcoming travel opportunities beginning this summer through the spring of 2022. 

Workforce Immersion Grant Puts Educators on the 鈥楩actory Floor鈥

91爆料 (PTC) is the lead organization in a multi-agency partnership to place local school teachers and counselors on the archetypal 鈥渇actory floor鈥 of participating technology-driven businesses in the region to the empower participating educators to fully inform students, through their firsthand experience, about entry-level positions in growing industries such as advanced manufacturing, biotechnology and computer technology. 
The initiative has been made possible by a $15,000 Workforce Immersion Experiences for Educators grant from the SC Department of Commerce Office of Innovation. Participating companies are matching this commitment one-to-one, which brings the grant鈥檚 total value to $30,000.
